There is the Tomato plantation which is easily identified by its being the first area under plastic mulch and drip irrigation technology. We expect two to three harvests of Tomatoes during the year.
Various species of pepper are included in this plantation covering one hectare of the mother farm. The beauty of pepper planting is the continuous harvest that it generates once it is ready for harvesting. Customers come everyday to purchase small quantities but every Monday morning is the large harvest that yields bags of red pepper for sale. Varieties include bell pepper of yellow and green large sizes
Okra of various species are planted on several locations covering up to one hectare of the market garden. Because it grows straight up it is easy to interplant between other plants such as Cocoa and Moringa. Again okra produces and continues to yield for six to eight weeks
Cucumber plantation covers over seven different plots and is the quickest yielding plant. It matures in six weeks and is fully harvested and its life cycle is completed by end of the eighth week.
Covers three-quarters of an hectare and is increasing in hectares due to increase in local demand. People buy whole ridges and in bags and there’s hardly enough to meet the demand. It combines with Ikong Ubong (ugwu) in the making of Edikang Ikong soup.
Another local vegetable with high local demand and consumption is cultivated on several plots of the farm. This is the vegetable of the famous Edikang-Ikong soup It generates daily and continuous cash flow for the farm and provides food for the local community.
Our farm is cultivating Salad vegetables in line with our organic philosophy and the understanding to encourage diversity in the public food intake for improved health.
A special dwarf specie of pawpaw is planted along the long walk into the farm behind the fencing. In addition to the beauty of green, bouncing fruits, the sweet taste of our pawpaw will overtake all others in the local market in a short time. This truly showcases our whole purpose of Low- Hanging- Fruits.
There is also water melon sprawling over an area of one-half hectare.
